The Structured Internship Programme is a collaborative programme between the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) and TalentCorp that encourages companies to provide practical learning experience through internships for students from local public and private institutions of higher education.
The internship programme is designed to benefit two groups; the interns/students and the Companies/Employers.
Students who successfully secure an internship under the SIP will find themselves experiencing practical work experiences that are industry relevant and thus, making them more employable once they graduate.
On the other hand, a company that hires Malaysian full-time undergraduates from local IPTA and IPTS to undergo its TalentCorp endorsed SIP is eligible for double tax deduction incentive for related expenses incurred on the interns during the internship programme.
